This months Friday Night Social Marilla is all about Art.  We will have canvas painting with a twist! Bring your creative children to create their very own masterpiece.  This event is FREE and no booking is required! So come along and let the children explore their creativity. We will have a design competition to create a Marilla Mascot. So if your children love creating come along and let them get messy, because messy play is good for the soul, and better still you don't have to deal with the mess.  Food will be available from the Navy Club from 6pm, booking is essential call them on 0895927997 and leave your name and number of people who want to eat and they will get back to you.  Drinks available from the bar. STRICTLY NO BYO (FOOD AND DRINK). Tickets for collection of data and to ensure we have the right amount of supplies so click on the ticket button and book your free place now. MyTime groups provide support for mothers, fathers, grandparents and anyone caring for a child with a disability or chronic medical condition. It’s a place for you to unwind and talk about your experiences. It’s a world away from appointments and therapy. It’s support for you. Because you're worth it! My Time are looking for new members, it is free to attend/join, just turn up on the day and Claire will be there to help you.   Please share this information with anyone you believe will benefit from these sessions.  There is a children's play coordinator on site to help with your children while you relax and connect with people who understand.  It is not essential that children attend, the sessions are for you to relax and unwind You do not have to be a Marilla member to attend these sessions.  Every Thursday 9:30am -11:30am (Term time only) Based in the Rockingham Navy Club.

Welcome to our 2018 weekly playgroup!  Every Wednesday (term time only) 9:30-11:30 am Marilla runs an educational and fun playgroup with a new theme every term. Our new theme this term is Dr Seuss! Story time is going to be great! We have lots of craft and activities to suit all preschool children (pre-school only).  The session also includes story time/song time and lots of free play.   So why not come and join us and meet like minded people for a coffee and a catch up?  Come and join in the fun and meet new friends.  Cost: Gold coin donation All children to bring a piece of fruit to share *Remember to bring a hat and a bottle of water for your child/children.  This event is outdoors so ensure you and your children are dressed for the weather.  To attend you must be a member, you can do this online by going to our website www.marillacommunitycentre.com and clicking 'memberships' or you can complete a paper membership form on the day. 1st session is a trial and a membership will be required by session 2.  Cost of membership is: $20 per year (non-defence members) $10 per year (defence members)

Calling all families with school aged children. You said and we listened. After collecting responses from our members we found a need for a social group for those families who have 'older' children. We have set up a group for all school aged children to come and meet every week. Every Tuesday at 3:30pm Marilla will provide a place for children aged 5 and above to come together with other school aged children and their families.  There will be a space for homework, a space for reading and also an age approprite activity for the day. Our Coordinator Maria will be there to support children with any homework or reading while the parents/guardians can catch up and have a coffee. There will be Maths and English workbooks, creative art work, free play and a story for those who want to listen.  Please feel free to bring your childrens reading books from school and/or a favorite story book to be read on the day.  Afternoon tea will be provided. Healthy snacks to keep those little minds working.  A semi structured programme to engage young minds.  *Younger siblings are also welcome to attend however the activities may not be suitable for those ages and parents supervision is required.  All children will be the responsibilty of the parent/guardian who must remain at the centre during the session.  This session will be run outdoors so ensure your children are dressed for the weather.  Please choose the ticket option if you are attending, this is a free event. If you are currently not a member, you can attend the first session and then complete a membership application on the day or visit our 'memberships' option and join online.  Lets make this group a success and share to all those who might be interested.  Term time only This programme will be run by Maria our Coordinator with support from our Marilla members, come along and grab a coffee.

New 2018 Pregnancy Mums and Bubs

This group aims to support pregnant women and newborns (up to 12 months). Its an informal meet up where you get to chat to other mums and get/share advice and information in regards to your pregnancy and experiences.  It is going to be run by our members one of which is a qualified midwife. Each week will have a different topic of discussion.  Come along for a coffee and a chat.  This group runs outdoors so ensure you wear appropriate clothing for the day.  Please bring a small snack to share (not compulsary) Cost is gold coin donation To join Marilla please visit our website and click 'memberships' and 'new'

Australia Clean Up Day at Marilla

Its 'Clean Up Australia' Community Day and we are volunteering to clean around the Point Peron area.  We are looking for more volunteers to help us out by giving us a little of your time.  It's never too early to teach children about the importance of keeping our nature areas clean of rubbish and to respect the local wildlife. The Navy Club bar will be open for refreshments on the day, so come on down, meet local people and take part in this community event.
