Welcome to our weekly playgroup! Every Wednesday (term time only) 9:30-11:30 am our Playgroup Coordinator Cara runs an educational and fun playgroup with a new theme every term. We have lots of craft and activities to suit all preschool children.  The session also includes story time and lots of free play.  So why not come and join us and meet like minded mums for a coffee and a catch up? Its the start of the new term and this terms theme is 'Around The World' last week was Hawaii...where to next?Come and join in the fun and meet new friends. Cost: Gold coin donationAll children to bring a piece of fruit to share*Remember to bring a hat and a bottle of water for your child/children.  This event is outdoors so ensure you and your children are dressed for the weather. To attend you must be a member, you can do this online by going to our website www.marillacommunitycentre.com and clicking 'memberships' or you can complete a paper membership form on the day. Cost of membership after this date is:$20 per year (non-defence members)$10 per year (defence members)

Marilla fitness sessions are run by the lovely Kirsten from InFituation and are a child friendly fitness group that runs every Monday morning at 9.30 am from the Rockingham Naval Club (at the rear of the building). No online ticket just come along and pay on the day! (Bulk purchase for tickets available at your session)If having to pay childcare costs or not having any childcare has put you off exercising in the past, this is for you! If you are ready to make that leap into getting back into shape then come and join our group.We have a Facebook page: Infituation@Marilla where you can chat to the group and get friendly advice and information. Come and meet like-minded people and make fitness fun.Bring $5, a towel and a water bottle. If you have a fitness mat, bring that along too.Suitable for all genders aged 18-65.Please bring a snack, water bottle and a hat for your child. Marilla will provide toys for your child/children while you exercise. (Children will be your responsibility during the session). This session runs outdoors so please ensure your children are dressed appropriately for the weather.A healthy protein snack will be provided for the fitness attendees after your session.*This is a Marilla members only group, you can join online, or on the day. Forms will be available at the sign in table at the start of your session, please arrive 10 mins earlier to complete your membership if you chose the option to join on the day. MyTime groups provide support for mothers, fathers, grandparents and anyone caring for a child with a disability or chronic medical condition. Thank you to Rockingham Navy Club Bingo for your donation!We are excited to announce we have the amazing Maggie Dent coming to Marilla Community Centre!! A little bit about Maggie...Maggie Dent is an author, educator, and parenting and resilience specialist with a particular interest in the early years and adolescence.Maggie’s experience includes teaching, counselling, and working in palliative care/funeral services and suicide prevention. She is an advocate for the healthy, common-sense raising of children in order to strengthen families and communities. She is a passionate, positive voice for children of all ages.Maggie is the author of ten books, several e-books and a prolific creator of resources for parents, adolescents, teachers and early childhood educators, and others who are interested in quietly improving their lives. She is the mother of four sons and a very grateful grandmother.Maggie will be giving a 2 hour parenting seminar 'Saving Childhood' just for Marilla Members!! We will be providing a small buffet and the Navy Bar will be open for purchasing beverages on the night*. Tickets are just $10 per person, and are limited so don't miss out on this fantastic opportunity! With an average of a 1- 2 year waiting list Maggie is a sort after speaker and we have the privilege of having her speak here at our centre. Children can attend, however this will be a seminar and they will be your responsibility at all times throughout the session. CHILDREN'S ACTIVITY TICKETS ARE NOW SOLD OUTWe will have a children's facilitator available outdoors who will provide activities for the children, however these spaces are limited and will incur an extra fee/ticket. Ensure you book the 'Play activity facilitator ticket' with your own entrance ticket to avoid disappointment on the night. Marilla's Free Friday Socials are back! Need some FREE entertainment for the kids? Want to get out of the house, meet up with friendly families at a child friendly venue? Marilla Community Centre at Rockingham Navy Club is for you!Marilla Community Centre will be providing fun entertainment for your little ones every last Friday of the month  5pm-7pm at The Rockingham Navy Club. A  place to come and meet your community and find out whats on! Allow us to entertain the children, while you catch up with old friends and make new ones.  There will be a different 'fun entertainment activity' every month, so don't miss out and take advantage of this FREE event. This month we will be entertained by the amazing Rosie O! We will be Face Painting and Balloon Twisting so come along and let the games begin! Food available for adults and children, booking is essential. Call Rockingham Navy Club on 08 9592 7997 ( if no answer just leave a message with your name, date of booking and how many children/adults that require a meal) You can then choose on the night what you want to eat and you will have a table reserved for your meal. The Navy club is a licensed venue.  Strictly no BYO food or drinks. Ensure you book your food so you have a table reserved inside. Children who remain with their parents after the event closes (7pm) must be supervised by an adult and follow the Navy Clubs rules. Keep It Green! Marilla Community Centre's Mini Grubs Gardening club fun day! Children will be getting their hands dirty making garden decorations and planting veggies/plants to take home.  Why not bring the family  to see the children explore and learn about how plants grow and let their imagination run wild with arty crafts and planting veggies. Each child will make and plant something to take home and the fun continues as they watch their plants grow, maybe you will even get some food to eat as a result!Marilla Community...bringing children back to natureONLY $5 per family! Just pay one ticket per family and add each child attending on the free ticket option (you will not have to print this ticket, it is for information purposes only). Please add each child attending including their date of birth so we can provide age appropriate activities.  A family ticket must be purchased before adding the children tickets. Limited spaces, tickets sold on a first come first serve basis, so book now!This event is outdoors so please ensure your child is dressed appropriately for the weather. Marilla's AGM (Annual General Meeting) is fast approaching and we are currently looking for people who are willing to go that extra mile for their communities, we will have ALL roles open and we are ready to embrace the 'get up and get them' people onto our committee. We are holding a 'Welcome and Information Committee Meeting' for all those who may be interested in joining us.  Here we will discuss each job role in detail and also give you more information about who we are, and what we do. Cake and biscuits will be provided and it is a child friendly venue, so bring the little people and come and have a chat. Tickets are free and so is the tea/coffee! Just come along to see what we are all about. Roles include:Chairperson, Treasurer, Vice Chairperson, Secretary and more.  If you need experience, want to learn new skills, have skills we could use, have time to give and need to get out of the house , or want to take on a more 'hands on' role in your community we are looking for you! We run monthly (child friendly) committee meetings and we are from both Defence and Non-Defence backgrounds, and we occasionally meet up for an evening out or two if we are lucky! Come join the team and make the leap! From your friendly Marilla Community Centre Committee Members and Staff...bringing communities together
