Caring For Kids First Aid Training by St John Ambulance

Marilla Training Courses offer members..A Caring For Kids First Aid course for only $25pp (the cost is usually $95 if booked direct through St Johns) This is a non-accredited course that teaches how to perform CPR, and how to manage bleeding, burns and a range of childhood related illnesses and injuries. Particular focus is given to asthma, choking, bites and stings. There are no assessments as part of this course. Who this course is recommended for: • Parents/guardians; • Grandparents; and • Carers of young children. All participants will receive a Tiny Tots First Aid Kit, valued at $35.00 St John Ambulance recommends that you refresh your first aid training every 12 months. This is also in line with the Australian Resuscitation Council guidelines that state CPR skills should be refreshed annually. Course duration: 5 hours. Overview Course Content: CPR DRSABCD action plan Recovery position for child and infant Foreign material  Positional asphyxia  Respiratory conditions - asthma, allergic reaction, anaphylaxis, choking Trauma management – falls, cuts, nose bleeds, bleeding, shock, burns, fractures and soft tissue injuries  Common childhood problems – toothache, earache, stomach upsets, croup, fever, febrile convulsions, meningococcal, poisons, bites and stings  Unit(s) of Competency There are no formal qualifications associated with this course. This course usually runs at $95 but our members get it for just $25pp (Thats an amazing saving all thanks to Marilla)

This group is for you if you are pregnant, or have already had a baby or have a toddler as babies and small children welcome, we have toys and a cuppa waiting for you. Today's topic is Budget Tips For Families. This group is free and meets on every second Monday of school term from 9.30am to 11.30am and is led by two doulas who are passionate about taking care of mothers (Kelly Evans - The Modern Doula and Kylie Rose Doula). We do regular activities to explore motherhood and have some fun. There will be activities available for the kids too. We will explore topics relating to pregnancy, birth and parenthood.

Members Only Group Fitness class with Kirsten from Infituation.   Register now, and arrive dressed to sweat at 9.30am -10.30 am every Monday  Kids are welcome to attend but they are your responsibility at all times. Bring the kids along to put an end to School Holiday boredom and learn some new skills on the 10th April at 10am.  Kidz'n Sport will be here with a range of sports activities that build self-confidence while having fun! Some of the activities that may run include: Basketball shoot - Portable unit set up and children shoot from a mat Netball shoot - Portable unit set up and children shoot from a mat Throwing target - Portable unit set up and children shoot from a mat Catching Station - either use our automatic ball machines or a coach will manually do the throwing  Rebound Net - Portable unit set up and children shoot from a mat Fun Games Sack races Egg and spoon races Three Legged Race Tug of War Dodge Ball Rats and Rabbits The session goes for 1.5-2 hours depending on the session. Suitable for ages 2-8.
